講座概要

診療

附属病院における病理診断業務全般（生検・外科材料診断、細胞診断、術中迅速診断、病理解剖）を担当。年間組織診断件数は約1万1千件（関連病院分を含めると2万件超）で、東北地区有数のhigh volume centerです。複数病院とのネットワークによる遠隔迅速病理診断や、遺伝子パネル検査に用いる病理検体の確認も行い、地域医療に貢献しています。「臨床に役立つ病理学」を基本理念に、臨床各科との定期カンファレンスを通じて迅速かつ精度の高い病理診断の提供に努めています。

教育

学部教育では3年次「器官病理学」（講義・実習）、4年次「臨床病理学」（講義）を担当し、臓器別各論とバーチャルスライド実習、症例提示型講義を実施。臨床実習では標本作製・切り出し・組織診断・細胞診断などの実務体験とCPC形式の症例検討を行い、最終日にはプレゼンテーションで臨床病理相関をまとめます。卒後教育では岩手県内の関連病院（胆沢・中部・久慈・二戸・盛岡市立・北上済生会病院等）の研修医CPCを多数指導しています。

研究

腫瘍学（Oncology）を基盤に、免疫組織化学・遺伝子異常・遺伝子発現解析等の手法を用いて腫瘍の生物学的特徴を解明し、臨床病理学的知見との関連を検討しています（研究テーマについては別記参照）。

特徴的な臨床の取り組み

併設する遺伝子検査室との積極的な連携により、承諾を得た検体に対しては積極的に分子病理学的検査を行い病理診断に役立てている。

教授挨拶

本講座では、消化器病理、婦人科病理、呼吸器病理、皮膚病理を中心に、腫瘍病理学の研究と病理診断を行っています。病理学は、疾患の本態を形態学的・分子生物学的に解明し、診断や治療へとつなげる医学の基盤です。当教室では、伝統である腺管分離法や次世代シーケンサーなど最新の解析技術を用い、形態と分子異常との関連を明らかにし、新たな診断・治療法の開発を目指しています。

また、附属病院病理診断科として日々の病理診断を担い、「臨床に役立つ病理学」を理念に掲げています。質の高い病理診断のためには、常に最新の知識を学び、多くの専門家と議論を重ね、臨床各科と密接に連携することが不可欠です。組織標本の向こうには患者さんがいることを忘れず、一例一例に真摯に向き合っています。

病理学は、あらゆる疾患を理解するための学問であり、研究の可能性は無限に広がっています。病理医を志す方はもちろん、研究や臨床に興味のある学生・医師の皆さんも歓迎いたします。ぜひ本講座でともに学び、新たな医学の発展に挑戦しましょう。
